XP (experience points)

Definition: Points that measure your progress in BioQuest and set your explorer level. They are added only when the Biosphere server records the activity, and they are not BPE.

More about xp (experience points)

Main sources: the Daily Mystery (+10 to +50 per species, depending on how much of the photo you reveal) and finishing it (+75); games (first completed round of each game per day: +10, +5 per correct answer and +15 for a perfect round, up to +55); daily objectives (+25); knowledge challenges (+15); and each species new to your field journal (+10, once per species — whether it comes from the Field Scanner, its species profile or a quest).

Scanning a species that is already in your field journal shows the result but adds no XP, and the same scan can’t be counted twice. Moving from level L to the next costs 300 × L XP. The full table is in What you earn in BioQuest.

XP never turns into BPE and a Field Scanner result is not a verified observation; verified real-world work goes through Impact Actions.
