Partner with Biosphere

Organizations can fund a campaign of real actions for nature: people take part through Biosphere, every action is reviewed by a person, the budget is tracked by category and you receive a report of what was verified.

What a campaign can include

  • Litter cleanups
  • Beaches, rivers, parks or neighbourhoods. Participants record before/after photos, bags collected and estimated weight.
  • Species observations
  • Biodiversity walks or survey weeks: each observation has a photo, date and approximate place, useful for education and local awareness.
  • Habitat restoration
  • Native planting, invasive species removal or nest boxes with a local group that has permission to work on the site.

Who takes part: anyone with a verified Biosphere account in the campaign’s area and dates — for example your team, students, volunteers or the local community. Participation is free for them.

How it works

Scope
Together we define the goal, place, dates, eligible actions, safety rules and how each action will be verified.
Budget
We agree a budget by category before starting. You know where each part goes.
Launch
The campaign appears on Biosphere’s Impact page. Your name is shown only if you want it to be.
Actions
Participants submit evidence: photos, date, approximate place and details of what they did.
Review
Automatic checks flag duplicates, old photos or inconsistent data, and a person approves or rejects each action.
Report
You receive a report with verified activity, the budget plan and the money actually spent.

What we check — and what we don’t claim

What we check

  • Photos are reused or duplicated, too old, or missing their metadata.
  • The date and approximate place match the campaign.
  • Repeated or unusually frequent submissions from the same account.
  • A person reviews every action; reviewers can’t approve their own.
  • Every decision is logged and participants can appeal once.

What we don’t claim

  • It isn’t an independent audit or a certification.
  • It doesn’t produce carbon credits or offsets.
  • Weights and quantities are participants’ estimates, checked for consistency, not weighed by us.
  • We report what was verified, not projected or modelled impact.

How the budget is handled

Each campaign has its own plan and its own record of real money in and out. The categories are agreed with you; amounts depend on the scope.

Environmental delivery
Materials, transport, local partners and the work on the ground.
Verification & operations
Reviewing evidence, coordinating participants and support.
Participant rewards
Only if agreed: prizes, materials or recognitions for participants.
Biosphere service fee
Our fee for running the platform, the campaign and the report.
Payment & infrastructure
Payment processing, hosting and similar costs.

BPE, the Biosphere token, is not part of the budget: it has no cash value, isn’t sold to partners and isn’t counted as income. Participants earn XP, and BPE only under the published rules.

What the partner report includes

  • Number of actions submitted, verified and not verified, by type.
  • Each verified action with its date and approximate place — no names, emails or exact coordinates.
  • Quantities recorded by participants (bags, estimated kg, plants, species…).
  • The planned budget by category and the money actually received and spent.
  • Clear notes on what the data is and isn’t.

What we need to plan a pilot

  • Your organization and a contact person.
  • The goal: what you want to achieve and for whom.
  • Place or region, and approximate dates.
  • Which actions (cleanup, observation, restoration) and roughly how many participants.
  • A budget range, even approximate.
  • Local partners, permissions or safety requirements we should know about.
  • What you need in the report.

Questions organizations ask

Can we use the report for sustainability or ESG communication?
The report describes activity verified with Biosphere’s process. It isn’t an independent audit or certification, so check with your advisors how to present it.
Do we buy or receive BPE tokens?
No. Partners pay for the campaign in money; BPE is a reward token for participants with no cash value.
Can our name stay private?
Yes. Your name is only shown publicly if we agree it in writing.
How much does a campaign cost?
It depends on the place, duration, actions and reporting you need. We prepare a budget by category before anything starts.
